Company this Week

We have company this week. My parents are visiting from Minnesota. They did stop in Vermont first to see my Grandparents. They arrived last Friday. Saturday was a busy day so they were here to help with the babysitting. I am on the Derby Cultural Commission so I was busy all day with Derby Day. What is that? We close down one of the streets and have vendors (almost 150) and kids activities on the Green. It is my 3rd? year doing it. It is a busy day and we plan it for about 8 months. It was scheduled from 10-5. I got there at 6 am. Mom and Wally brought Shayla and Trinity to see all the work mom does. The cultural commission's kids had special passes so they didn't have to pay for some of the games and the pony rides. That was Trinity's favorite thing and Shayla's was the Dunk Tank. Tee Ball really paid off because she dunked the kid. At 4 pm Shayla and Jeff needed to be at the tee ball field for the trophy ceremony. He was a coach so he had to help with the trophies. That left Trinity and Riana. Trinity went to and Thanks to Jeff's mom and grandmother, they watched her until I got there. Riana stayed home with mom and Wally. When we came home we were having a small birthday party for my Aunt. I was so tired and had an awful headache from the heat. But everyone slept well that night.
My mom and I brought the kids to the zoo on Wednesday. It is only 20 mins away. Not too many animals but just right for the 2 older girls to walk. No double stroller this year.We saw a special Bird Show they were having. Riana loved watching the birds fly around the audience. Trinity gave a dollar to a bird that put it into the donation box. We all had a great time.

Getting Started

I thought I would give this thing a try. I have so many people that I would like to keep in touch with and so little time. This would allow me to update everyone at the same time. Just check out my blog when you want to know what is going on.
Today is the first day of Summer Vacation. First thing this morning Shayla (6) asked, "Where are we going today?" So I packed a picnic lunch for us and, after I hung the clothes on the line, we headed to the playground. Our friend, Cindy, joined us with her 2 kids. When we got home, Trinity (3) and Riana (19 months), went down for their naps. Shayla was so tired out she even fell asleep on the couch. So here I am with a few minutes of free time and I decided to start this. It may take some getting used to. Unlike my Grandmother, I have never been good at keeping a diary. But hey, it is worth a shot. Feel free to let me know what you think and make comments.
